I am a Certified Professional Biller (CPB™) with the American Academy of Professional Coders and have real life experience that spans multiple fields from Urology to mental health to Optometry and more.
I started assisting mental health providers and dietitians in my community with their billing after my ten years working with patients, insurances and providers revealed that insurances truly are quite simply a pain and a hassle to deal with (some might say an unavoidable evil). I also recognized that taking insurance as a provider allows for the provider to see more patients, for patients to have access to care, and increases revenue growth for the private practice – that is, when done correctly and accurately. On a more personal note, I find it very rewarding to serve as an advocate for providers and their patients when it comes to navigating the increasingly complex world of insurance and ensuring care is covered as promised. Having been a patient and having worked with a variety of providers on the administrative side, I know how critical it is to both the provider and the patient that the money aspect of their private practice is being handled efficiently with detail and care. What began with one provider has turned into, by word of mouth, an opportunity to help many more providers in my community and beyond. I use a system that has proven to work and simplify the lives of many providers, while being very cost effective. It is an approach developed collaboratively with other providers to ensure ease and simplicity. I love helping providers do what they love to do, with as little to worry about as possible, when it comes to the financial health of their practice or really, their livelihood. On a more personal note, I live in Ferndale, WA with my husband, Darin, and my son, Jude (3 years), and daughter, Ava (1 year). I enjoy running, biking, reading good books and spending time with people making them laugh! Testimonial |
Finding Sherri to manage my billing has been such a blessing to my private practice. I can count on her to handle all the convoluted ins and outs of billing insurance, tracking payments, and navigating the intricacies of co-insurance, deductibles, co-pays, and superbills. She has also drafted tactful professional letters explaining insurance issues to my clients when the need has arisen. Whenever I have a question or concern, she is ON IT! As she handles these potential billing headaches, I feel more present to be with my clients. Moreover, she shows a keen awareness of HIPAA, a clear respect for the field of psychotherapy, and has a hilarious sense of humor to boot! Deena Rathkamp, Ph. D.
